ABOUT

We believe a picture is worth a thousand words and as part of the State of Democracy in South Asia project Lokniti, the Programme for Comparative Democracy of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, (CSDS) Delhi is trying to build a visual archive on democracy.

The visual archive will be on the following themes

Social and Political Movements
New forms of protest
Relationships between State and Democracy
Constitutionalism and Rule of Law
Marginal Citizens such as women, indigenous people and displaced communities
Identity Politics
Elections and Parties
Political Conflict and Violence of the State and Groups
Any other theme you think is interesting

We are therefore inviting you to send us pictures, both digital and hard copy, on democracy, which are free of copyright and with no IPR constraints. The photographs will be hosted on our site with due credits to the photographer.

Share with us your stories of triumph and failure, of achievement and suppression, of innovation and constraint of the struggle for democracy, and let us grow together.
